CHARLIE BUCKINGHAM

Sailor, Waterman

Charlie grew up close to the ocean in Newport Beach, California and became comfortable with the water at an early age. He started crewing for his dad in local events and at age eight learned to sail on his own in the Naples Sabot. From there, Charlie progressed through the local, national, and collegiate sailing ranks, developing the confidence to pursue an Olympic campaign. Since Charlie started racing full time in 2011, he has represented Team USA at the 2016 Rio Olympics, qualified for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, and won a Bronze medal at the 2019 Pan American Games. Outside of sailing, Charlie is passionate about surfing, traveling, and music.
